BUKO Traffic & Safety has increased its signal fleet by over 560 units, combining more than 300 new traffic and pedestrian signals with 260 upgrades. This is the largest single order Traffic Group Signals (TGS) has received in its history.

New signals and upgrades

The order includes 300 new Evo1 pedestrian and traffic signalling units. Alongside this, BUKO is upgrading 260 existing signals with Evo ACM technology. The upgrade enhances the lifespan and operational reliability of these assets while standardising the fleet’s appearance.

Managing signals with TMdesk

BUKO is onboarding TMdesk, TGS’s cloud-based signal management system. This platform allows teams to track, monitor and schedule maintenance for each asset remotely. Greater visibility supports proactive management and faster response times.

UK-wide deployment

The new Evo1 signals are designed to manage complex urban traffic and UTC (Urban Traffic Control)-connected schemes. These will primarily serve London and other densely populated areas. The upgraded Evo ACM units offer a robust solution for utility works and simpler multiphase schemes across the wider UK.

Supporting rapid expansion

The investment follows BUKO’s recent expansion across the UK through acquisitions and an increasing number of depots. This combined new and upgraded fleet supports the company’s operational growth and brand consistency nationwide.

Industry perspectives

Tom Miles, Commercial Director at Traffic Group Signals, said the order marks an important milestone. He thanked BUKO for their continued partnership and looked forward to supporting their future development.

BUKO’s Managing Director, Mark Gallimore, explained that the upgrade and new signals improve day-to-day reliability. Bringing the fleet into TMdesk provides clear oversight, helping teams plan maintenance and reduce site disruptions. The investment ensures the signal fleet can scale alongside BUKO’s growing operations.
