Seventy-five years of combined expertise across highways and infrastructure now comes under one banner. Three established specialists – formerly Solar Gates, MVIS and P&D Specialist Services – have brought their capabilities together as SG.
The group covers incursion control, traffic management, visual messaging, monitoring and power infrastructure. Each company’s specialist skills remain intact but operationally they can work more closely to support complex projects.
Joined-up teams across multiple disciplines
Projects that require several technical areas can benefit from a single point of contact. SG offers integrated teams spanning engineering, installation, electrical work, groundworks, service and emerging infrastructure technologies.
This reduces the need for multiple subcontractors and handovers. Businesses managing highways and construction schemes face growing complexity and cost pressures. SG’s joined-up approach aims to give clearer routes from specification through delivery and support.
Decades of specialist knowledge
Neil Sampson, SG’s chief executive, says the combination brings together decades of experience across a range of services. “Infrastructure and highways schemes are getting more complex with tighter budgets. Our customers will not have to handle that complexity themselves,” he says.
“We provide agility and efficiency through a wider offering and a single point of contact.”
Among the specialist equipment deployed are SOSEC and INSTABOOM incursion control barriers, Berlex portable traffic signals, CCTV and monitoring systems, portable variable message signs (VMS), power generation units and EV charging infrastructure.
Available individually or as a combined package
Customers can still access individual product lines and services as before. The difference is the teams behind those capabilities can now collaborate more effectively on projects spanning multiple needs.
Recent additions to SG’s portfolio illustrate this broader capability. These include the variable message sign VMS-P, the ECO-GEN HVO power generator and a fully managed EV charging service.
Berlex’s TOPAS-approved R6+ portable traffic signals continue to be distributed exclusively by SG in the UK and Ireland, backed by local service and technical support.
Showcasing the combined offer
SG will present its integrated range at Highways UK, held at the NEC Birmingham from 14 to 15 October. Visitors can find the group on stand F25 where SG will demonstrate its new Interactive Hub alongside new products such as the VMS-P, ECO-GEN HVO and EV charging services.
The event offers an opportunity to explore how SG’s distinct areas of expertise can work independently or collectively across infrastructure schemes.
