Neil Sampson has become CEO of the Torquay Group, which includes UK companies Solar Gates, MVIS and P&D Specialist Services, alongside the Australian business BartCo. This marks a leadership change as the group advances to the next stage of its development.

Two years to lay the groundwork

Scott Paton has stepped down after two years as Group CEO. His role was to bring together a complementary set of businesses and establish a platform for future growth. Over that period, he focused on strengthening collaboration and shaping the group’s current structure.

Torquay Group acknowledged his leadership and the contributions he made.

Neil Sampson’s new role

Neil Sampson has led Solar Gates for more than two decades and more recently took charge of P&D Specialist Services. His experience includes driving innovation, creativity and adaptability within Solar Gates, qualities which the group aims to embed more widely.

He said, “Scott has played an important role in uniting the group and creating its foundations. I thank him on behalf of everyone at Torquay Group. Going forward, we will build on those foundations by combining the strengths of our businesses. Our teams have significant capability and I look forward to what we can achieve in the years ahead.”

Working across highways and construction

The group’s companies will continue close cooperation, offering combined expertise to clients in highways, infrastructure and construction sectors. The focus remains on practical innovation and problem solving.
