Nottinghamshire County Council has deployed additional road repair crews to tackle the backlog of potholes and surface defects following a harsh winter season that caused significant damage to the county's road network.
The council has allocated an extra £3 million for emergency road repairs, funding six additional repair teams working across the county's most affected routes.
Since the additional crews were deployed in March, over 5,000 potholes have been repaired, with priority given to the most dangerous defects on major routes.
"We know the condition of our roads is a major concern for residents, and we're throwing everything we can at the problem," said the council's transport spokesperson.
