Manchester City Council has given the green light to a significant £45 million upgrade of junction 19 on the M62 motorway. The comprehensive improvement scheme is slated to span two years, with construction kicking off in September 2026.
The project will see the widening of slip roads and the installation of new traffic signals to streamline vehicle flow. In addition, enhanced facilities for pedestrians and cyclists will be introduced to bolster safety and accessibility.
Aimed at tackling congestion and improving safety for the thousands of daily users, this upgrade reflects the council’s commitment to modernising key transport infrastructure across Greater Manchester.
