Volunteers across Gateshead collected over 800 bags of litter as part of the Great British Spring Clean campaign, making a visible difference to roadsides and public spaces throughout the borough.
The annual campaign, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, saw hundreds of community groups, schools, and individuals take part in organised litter picks along highways, footpaths, and green spaces.
Gateshead Council's environmental services team provided equipment and logistical support, with collected waste processed through the council's recycling facilities.
"The response from our communities has been incredible," said Gateshead Council. "This kind of community action makes a real difference to the look and feel of our area."
