A battery-powered electric boiler for recycled rubber mastic reduces noise and allows around-the-clock repairs on UK roads. The system cuts downtime and carbon emissions compared with conventional boilers.
Electric boiler runs quietly day and night
The boiler uses a dual-battery setup to keep working continuously without noise disruption. Multevo demonstrated it live at the LCRIG Innovation & Learning Festival, attended by local highways authorities, government, and industry partners.
The equipment has already been trialled within Multevo’s service delivery. The quiet operation lowers noise exposure risk and supports productivity targets by enabling repairs at any time.
Recycled rubber and zero waste
This electric boiler heats mastic made from recycled rubber tyres, reducing reliance on fossil fuels. All material is end-of-life tyre rubber, supporting circular economies within the highways sector by producing zero waste.
Reuse, repair and recycling on site
Multevo also showcased their Recycle, Rejuvenate, Repair (RRR) system. This one-machine solution recycles asphalt material in situ to carry out low-carbon pothole, patch and defect repairs with zero waste.
The RRR system launched last year and is currently undergoing trials on the Lancashire network, demonstrating UK-first technology in sustainable asphalt repair.
Multi-tool machines for winter and site work
Multevo displayed Wille Machine models they distribute exclusively in the UK. The Wille range covers 2 to 7 tonne multi-purpose machines with front lifting arms that function as 3-in-1 tool carriers for highways, grounds maintenance, site cleansing, winter maintenance and construction.
The line up also included the Mercedes-Benz Unimog, a versatile heavy-duty machine with on- and off-road capability. Multevo recently became the UK sales and aftersales dealer for Unimog, offering nationwide demonstrations.
Sharing expertise at the first LCRIG Hackathon
At the festival’s first Hackathon, Multevo acted as Technical Learning Partner and sponsor. Marketing director Josh Sweeney delivered a CPD-certified session on how the highways industry can overcome the post-pandemic maintenance backlog.
Both the Wille machines and Unimog are available across the UK with support from Multevo’s national network. The new electric boiler and RRR system offer quieter, cleaner ways to maintain carriageways and reduce disruption to local communities.
