Chellan Highway Safety Services completes its annual Achilles assessments in 2026, retaining multiple accreditations that reflect the company’s sustained standards in safety, quality and sustainability.

Recognised certification for quality and compliance

Achilles accreditation confirms that a business meets thorough requirements across quality, compliance and operational performance. The certification is recognised by leading organisations in sectors such as construction, energy, transport and utilities.

Chellan’s continued success in these assessments demonstrates the ongoing effectiveness of its systems and processes.

Four Gold Stars and BuildingConfidence Gold maintained

Following its latest evaluations, Chellan retains the Achilles BuildingConfidence Gold CAS Assessment. This assesses its performance against strict quality and safety criteria.

The company also keeps its Achilles Sustainability Rating of four Gold Stars. This rating covers Environmental, Social, Governance and Financial factors, highlighting commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices within the highways sector.

In addition, Chellan is SSIP Approved, meeting the independent standards of the Safety Schemes in Procurement framework. The company is registered within the Achilles Network and BuildingConfidence programmes, which adds further assurance to clients across construction and highways contracts.

Commitment beyond certification

Managing Director Wayne Nelthorpe explains these accreditations mark more than certificates: "They represent the hard work and dedication of our team and the standards maintained daily across the business."

Chellan is expanding its 24/7 highways CCTV monitoring services alongside LENSE, its digital scheme management and compliance platform. Maintaining these accreditation standards remains a priority during growth.

Wayne adds: "Independent assessments like Achilles provide clients confidence that they are working with a business that takes responsibilities seriously and commits to high professional standards."

"Successful completion is a milestone in an ongoing commitment to quality and continuous improvement."

Support for UK highways and construction clients

These accreditations align with the requirements of UK highways authorities, contractors and schemes such as CDM Regulations and NRSWA. They provide verifiable evidence of compliance essential for contracts on the strategic road network and local authority projects.

Chellan’s recognised standards support safer and more sustainable operation on UK roads including motorways, A-roads and urban carriageways.
