The National Energy System Operator (Neso), the state-owned body managing Britain’s electricity system, has awarded Palantir a £21m contract without holding a competition. The direct award, citing technical reasons, spotlights a growing issue across UK infrastructure: how software platforms embed deeply and become difficult to replace.
Control rooms and data at the heart of infrastructure
