The Crown Highways annual charity football tournament raised over £2,030 on 6 July, marking its most successful year to date. The event brings together colleagues, clients, supply chain partners and industry friends for a day of competitive football and fundraising.

Competition and Charity Combined

Teams competed throughout the day for the tournament trophy, with Kier retaining their title from last year. The event is now a well-established fixture in Crown Highways’ charitable calendar, combining sport with community support.

Supporting Charlotte’s Kids Village

Funds raised, including Gift Aid, will benefit Charlotte’s Kids Village, the charity chosen by Crown Highways for 2026. The village provides respite and family time for children with critical illnesses. Crown’s support extends beyond fundraising, having completed the access road to the site and continuing infrastructure works for the project.

More Fundraising Activities Planned

The football tournament is one part of Crown Highways’ 2026 fundraising programme for Charlotte’s Kids Village. A charity golf day organised by Chairman Steve Jones is scheduled for the autumn, aiming to increase support and involve the wider highways community.

Growing Support Across the Industry

Since its first tournament supporting Dementia UK, Crown Highways has raised increasing sums annually, with last year’s event raising £1,700 for Katharine House Hospice. The growth highlights a growing commitment across the highways sector to community causes.

Crown Highways gives thanks to all participants, donors and supporters. The success of the 2026 tournament marks another step towards backing the vital work of Charlotte’s Kids Village. With the golf day still to come, fundraising efforts for the charity will continue throughout the year.
